Pedestrians and cyclists

There are special pedestrian and bike routes (external links) you can use to get to PCH.

Please remember to always give way to pedestrians when cycling on hospital grounds.

If you’re cycling from west of PCH (near Shenton Park train station)

  • PCH is near the main shared path that runs close to the Fremantle railway line from Fremantle to Perth city.
  • Leave the main shared path near Shenton Park train station
  • Ride east onto the Aberdare Street bicycle lane
  • From Aberdare Street, ride to the north end of Hospital Avenue to arrive at PCH

If you’re cycling from north east of PCH (near West Perth)

  • If coming from the north east, ride down Thomas Road then continue down Winthrop Avenue
  • Turn into the bicycle lane in Aberdare Street
  • Enter the north end of Hospital Avenue to arrive at PCH

If you’re cycling from south east of PCH (near UWA)

  • If coming from the south east, ride down Winthrop Avenue
  • Turn into the bicycle lane in Aberdare Street
  • Enter the north end of Hospital Avenue to arrive at PCH
