Community Hubs Consumer Panel
Building on our previous community consultation, CAHS is looking for up to 15 young people, parents, and/or carers to join the Community Hubs Consumer Panel.
The Consumer Panel will provide practical feedback and strategic advice on the development of the CAHS Community Hubs, currently under construction in Midland and Murdoch.
The Community Hubs (the Hubs) are purpose-built facilities which aim to provide a ‘one-stop shop’ for universal, targeted and specialised service provision, supported by a network of smaller facilities in the local community, called spokes, which give families the option of also accessing services closer to home.
The Hubs will provide the following CAHS community-based services:
- Child Health
- School Health
- Aboriginal Health Team
- Child Development Service
- Immunisation Services
- Community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)
- Specialised Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)
We are looking for young people (aged 13 – 20 years), parents, and/or carers who are passionate about improving care in the community and:
- Have lived experience in accessing one or more of the above CAHS services – this can be previous or current experience
- Have links with other consumers or families who access these services
- Reflect the diversity of our consumers including: Aboriginal consumers, consumers of child/school health, child development and mental health services, consumers with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
- Live in or near:
- Midland – including suburbs in and around the Midland, Swan and Hills (Mundaring/Kalamunda) region
- Murdoch – including suburbs in and around the Fremantle, Melville and Cockburn region
What do you need to do?
The consumer representative role will involve:
- Attendance at meeting once-a-month – in person, or virtually (online), of approximately 1.5 hours for up to 12 months (which may be extended)
