Ethics and governance
The Research Ethics & Governance team supports both the CAHS Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) and researchers who are seeking ethics and governance approval.
All research conducted at CAHS, or involving CAHS patients, their data or samples, must have both HREC approval and governance authorisation before commencing.
These processes are vital for minimising risks to patients and maintaining the integrity of the research and the value of its outcomes.
The Research and Ethics team welcomes enquiries from researchers seeking information on all aspects of the ethics and governance approval process. The team can also assist with advice on setting up clinical trials, including things that should be considered when designing a study.
