Research

The Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) recognises the importance of research to improving the health and wellbeing of the children and families who access our care.

This commitment is underpinned by the CAHS Research Strategic Plan 2024-2026 which aims to:

  • enhance our research and innovation efforts to promote best practices in child and adolescent health.
  • invest in contemporary care models and emerging treatments to ensure the best outcomes for children, young people, and their families.
  • build and expand partnerships with other organisations to collaborate on research and innovation.

We know that investment in research leads to better treatments and better care for our patients. It ensures the therapies we deliver are not only effective but at the forefront of modern medicine.

Research also helps us attract the best and brightest staff – individuals abreast of advances in their fields and who are engaged and motivated to find new and better ways of preventing, diagnosing, and treating illness and injury.

Maintaining a vibrant research culture will enable us to better understand and respond to emerging health challenges.

Research is critical to improving care now and into the future, helping us create healthier, happier communities.
