What is the Youth Advisory Council?
The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is a group of up to 12 people aged 12 – 24 years old, who are eligible to use any of our services or have used our services within the last five years, this includes:
- Have been patients at Perth Children’s Hospital
- Visited our child development service or school nurse
- Accessed our mental health services
- Are eligible to access any of the above services.
The main duties of the Council are to provide:
- Advice from a young person’s perspective including seeking feedback from other young people
- Feedback on the information we provide to the public
- Thoughts on experiences of other consumers (e.g. complaints)
- Input on how we deliver our services.
