Why did you choose a career in nursing?
Towards the end of school, I didn’t really know what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
The only thing I knew is that I wanted to help people and make a difference to the community.
Tell us about how you got this role
I was working in an adult tertiary hospital and wanted a sea change. I saw a recruitment pool open at PCH and applied.
What are the best bits about working here?
I love working with the children and making a difference to their lives. The PCH team is supportive and is continuously motivating me to learn and strive for more.
What are the most challenging parts about working here?
Can be emotionally challenging seeing sick children and you feeling like you can’t help.
What is the most rewarding thing about being a nurse?
Knowing that you are making even just the smallest positive difference to someone’s life in their time of need. It’s a very rewarding career.
