Accommodation

While we try to keep parents together with their baby at PCH, accommodation is a limited resource.

Please ask your bedside nurse or the Ward 3B midwife if you would like parent accommodation. Visit the PCH website for more information.

There are three types of accommodation including:

  • Parent Accommodation Facility - managed in partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities, the Parent Accommodation Facility is on Level 5. These rooms are for parents of critically unwell and palliative patients, breastfeeding mothers of sick babies, country parents, parents of transplant patients and those from rural and remote areas.
  • Ronald McDonald House - see below.
  • Ward 3B - there is limited accommodation on the ward. The accommodation is provided on a priority basis considering family home address (usually regional WA) and parents transitioning their baby home. Please ask our midwife for more information and to check availability.

Parent Lounge

Ward 3B has a parent’s lounge area at the end of each wing where you can rest away from the busy ward and get a cup of a tea, coffee or cold water.

There is some food available in the level 2 lounge.

These areas are for parents only.

Other visitors can use the lounge facilities at the entrance to the ward and in the hospital atrium.

Ronald McDonald House

Ronald McDonald House (RMH) offers accommodation for regional WA families who have a child in hospital receiving treatment.

The 47-bedroom facility in Nedlands is situated directly across the street from PCH.

To be eligible, families must live 100km+ from Perth and have a child receiving treatment at PCH or KEMH.
