New online resource supports safer paediatric prescribing and medicines management
PCH pharmacists are supporting safe and informed prescribing through new online resources

Health professionals now have access to a comprehensive collection of paediatric medication monographs and clinical guidelines through a new online resource available on the Perth Children's Hospital (PCH) website.
The free, searchable platform brings together evidence-based medication information and clinical guidance to support healthcare professionals caring for infants, children and young people.
Developed by the PCH Pharmacy Department, the resource includes PCH Medication Monographs, ChAMP (Children's Antimicrobial Management Program) Guidelines and Monographs, and endorsed Paediatric Improvement Collaborative (PIC) Clinical Practice Guidelines.
The medication monographs provide clinicians with access to current information on medication dosing, indications, contraindications, adverse effects and administration considerations, helping support safe and informed prescribing decisions.
The initiative also strengthens collaboration with paediatric health services across Australia through participation in the Paediatric Improvement Collaborative, supporting consistency in evidence-based paediatric care.
PCH Chief Pharmacist Ben Ware said the online resource would make trusted paediatric medication information more accessible to healthcare professionals.
"Providing easy access to high-quality, evidence-based paediatric medication information helps clinicians make informed decisions and supports safe, effective care for children and young people," Ben said.
The resource is available online and can be accessed at any time from a computer, tablet or mobile device.
Healthcare professionals with medication-related queries can also access support through the PCH Paediatric Medicines Information Service on (08) 6456 0190 (Option 1) between 9am and 5pm AWST, Monday to Friday.
