Kindy Talks
Just as your child health nurse supported you and your child during the early years, the school health nurse can support your child as they go through school, from Kindy all the way up to year 12.
Who is this program for
These talks are for parents and carers of children who are 4 years old and starting Kindy.
They are offered by school health nurses in either term 4 (before your child starts Kindy) or in term 1 (the year your child starts Kindy).
Your child’s school will let you know if they offer a Kindy talk.
What is covered?
During this talk, the school health nurse will let you know about the range of services they provide and information including:
- School Health Entry Assessment
- growth and development
- healthy eating and lunch box ideas
- physical activity
- immunisation.
Our school health nurses work together with teachers and parents to support children’s healthy development and wellbeing in primary schools across Western Australia.
