As a member of a multidisciplinary team, this position assists with the provision of general patient care supporting registered nurses (RN) and enrolled nurses (EN).
Role criteria
- Able to be employed as an AIN via either the AIN (student) or AIN (non-student) pre-requisite pathway:
- AIN (student)- have completed stage 1 to 3 (50% completion) of a NMBA approved Bachelor of Nursing program with academic good standing
- AIN (non-student)- successfully completed the nationally recognised qualification, Certificate III in Health Services Assistance-Acute Care

Enrolled Nurses work under the delegation and supervision of Registered Nurses and are responsible for the delivery of competent, compassionate, safe and evidenced based nursing care on a shift by shift basis to patients and their families.

- Knowledge of Scope of Nursing Practice Decision Making Framework as it applies to the EN and of legislation that affects nursing practice.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of a high standard of nursing care on a shift by shift basis to patients and their families using the Scope of Nursing Practice Decision Making Framework. Registered Nurses also act as role models and will undertake teaching roles in nursing practice for more junior staff and nursing students.

Staff Development Nurses are responsible for the ongoing assessment of the knowledge and skills of nursing staff in the designated department and will support onboarding, orientation and professional development of nurses in a specific area.

- Ability to act as a clinical resource in the development and evaluation of others.
- Ability to identify, develop, implement and evaluate staff and student required education programs in a clinical setting incorporating adult learning principles.

The Clinical Nurse Manager - Community Health manages community health staff, including clinical nurses, registered nurses, enrolled nurses, other health workers, support staff and associated physical resources.
The position acts as a role model, consultant and team leader who provides clinical support and guidance; is responsible for the standards of nursing practice and implementing changes to clinical practice within a designated area. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders is key to this role to facilitate high quality and accessible services to the community.
