    Young people making a difference 04 October 2024 Our Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) Youth Advisory Group (YAG) is on a mission to empower young patients, clients, and their families to have an active role in their healthcare journeys. And they are certainly hitting the mark – taking out the Y WA Collective Action Award category in this year’s WA Youth Awards. With a record 155 nominations across all categories, securing a win was an outstanding achievement.     Stan Perron Charitable Foundation’s commitment to helping kids with cancer 19 August 2024 On Saturday 17 August 2024, Minister for Health, the Hon Amber-Jade Sanderson MLA, announced a donation by the Stan Perron Charitable Foundation of $135.5 million over the next decade to a multi-partner collaboration to support Western Australian children and young people with cancer. Across Australia, cancer is the leading cause of death by disease for children. The generous philanthropic donation, one of the largest in WA’s history, will not just change the lives of children currently living with cancer, but will also help to advance cancer research and treatment into the future building upon the significant work already being undertaken by Perth Children’s Hospital and Telethon Kids Institute.     Inaugural Nursing Research Fellowships supported by Telethon 14 August 2024 Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) and Telethon are thrilled to announce the inaugural candidate of the Nursing Research Fellowship (NRF) Program. Thanks to funding from Telethon, three Nursing Research Fellowships will be awarded over a three-year period, providing CAHS recipients with a dedicated opportunity to begin to build their research capability and expertise under the guidance of clinical and academic supervisors.
